G. Jesse's Newborn Photo Shoot

I found an INCREDIBLE photographer as I was browsing online right before G. was born. Her name is Sarah and her company name is "Bitsy Lane Photography." She specializes in children, but mostly newborns. She studied photography at Utah State, so she really understands photography, and isn't just any old person with a nice camera. She is awesome! She came and spent time in my parent's house with her own props, and things she found in the house, and took about a million pictures. She was so good at being patient with his newborn quirks, and catching the best moments. I am so glad to have these pictures of my sweet baby at 10 days old, and wanted to recommend her to all my friends in the Salt Lake area who have newborns and little kids. She doesn't charge very much, and she is well worth every penny! Click here to visit her website and see her portfolio. And here are some of the highlights of G. Jesse's photo shoot.

We asked G. what number of child he was in the family, so he held us 4 fingers ;). Yeah, he's pretty smart already...

REAL love

(Conversation as Isaac rode his bike home from his friend's house)

Isaac: Mom is love gross?
Mom: Why? Who told you that?
Isaac: Is love gross?
Mom: I don't know, why are you asking?
Isaac: Because Jillian and I are in love.
Mom: No you're not
Isaac: Yes we are Mom.
Mom: No you're not, you just like each other a lot
Isaac: Yeah, we like each other a lot so we decided to be in love
Mom: No you're not really in love
Isaac: Yes Mom, we are really, really, really, really, really, in REAL love.
Mom: No you're not.
Isaac: Yes we are. It's kind of weird, I don't know how but it just happened. And we are really, really, in real love. We go on dates now.
Mom: You can't date until you're 16.
Isaac: We don't go on REAL dates, just pretend dates, because we're in love.
Mom: No you're not.
Isaac: Yes we are Mom. How do you know?
Mom: Let's go ask Dad about it okay?

It looks like his girl-crazy best friend rubbed off on him. Hopefully Dave will read this post and have a good father/son discussion about love and dating at age 5.

ps I cut out about 200 of the "reallys" and several of the back and forths of "no you're not"/ "yes I ams."

Lately

"Mr Angry eyes" comparison

Here are some things going on lately-

G. Jesse- Smiles and goos and sleeping well at night.

Henry- He is staying out of the road more and more! He is becoming one of the big boys. He sits on a bar stool instead of a high chair, eats whatever the big boys eat, and sleeps in their room. He still loves shoes, and can actually say the word. He still loves eating, he eats at least as much or more than his older brothers. He is still exceptionally fun, sweet, and easy going. Henry is about to break his eye teeth through finally. He speaks jibberish in long sentences and stories. He can ride a big wheel now with his brothers. He brought me a bee in his hands the other day!!

Dawson- Brought home his picture he colored at church yesterday with the name "Daws" on it. I didn't know that it was that solid of a nickname. He knows 22/26 letters and their sounds, but usually only gets around 18-20 of them right when we go through them all, but gets different ones wrong every time. He also sings the abc song. It is all thanks to the Leapfrog DVD Letter Factory that we bought 2 months ago. Thanks to Lindsey and Katie for bringing it to my attention! He still uses the force on us, but I think he might have realized that he hasn't fully developed that yet as he is just a youngling, so he hasn't been using it as much lately. Dawson is Isaac's little sidekick, following him around and trying to do whatever he does. We teach them that they are each other's best friends, and they are more important than any friend that might come around. I hope that philosophy stays with them forever! Dawson peed the bed last night. He was not happy that I stripped his bed, which is what caused the angry eyes above. What a guy!

Isaac- Now has a cell phone. Granted, it is a pretend cell phone, but he likes to carry it everywhere with him. I had to confiscate it yesterday when he was talking on the phone during the sacrament. He was whispering very quietly, but I still thought it was inappropriate. He told me that a few days ago he was talking to an older boy in the neighborhood and said he was going to call his mom. The boy asked him how he thought he was going to call his mom and Isaac whipped out his cell phone and said, "With this!" I actually would love to get him a cell phone, but I could never trust him to not run through the sprinklers or something with it in his pocket. So I guess he'll have to stick to the pretend version. Isaac learned all his addition and multiplication from another Leapfrog DVD. I think he only watched it 3 or 4 times before he had them practically mastered. It appears he has a math mind like his mother, but he'll probably be much smarter. Isaac informed me that he no longer wants to be Indiana Jones when he grows up, but that he wants to be a parent. I thought that was so sweet. I told him he could be a parent and a DOCTOR! He thought that sounded okay. Then yesterday he told me he wanted to be a parent, a doctor, and a bishop. He had already okayed that with his father, so he knew it was possible. What a little over achiever.

ABC song

Very distracted attempt to get Daws to show off his letter/sounds skills- he didn't do very well, and I got frustrated and quit at "v" but decided to post it anyway thinking it was kind of funny.

Dr. appointments

Today the younger two boys had well child checks and shots! Neither of them were thrilled with the shots, but G. Jesse has pretty much been sleeping all day, so I don't mind. They are both perfectly healthy. Henry was in the 60th% for height and 25% for weight. His weight was up from 15% at 9 months and maybe 5% at 6 months. He's growing! He weighs 23 pounds, so he's not really big for 18 months.

G. Jesse only weighed 9 lbs 5 oz. I guess he can still be called my beensy boy. I thought he was 10 pounds when I weighed him at home, but that method isn't the most scientific method of weighing I guess. And he was 21 inches long. I think he was like 15% and 10%. Basically he's about the same size at 2 months and 1 week or almost 10 weeks old as I was at birth. My poor mom! I would never want to give birth to a baby this size! I don't think my mom wanted to either, but I guess once you're there you can't turn back.

Happy Mother's Day to me

+= My Mother's Day Present and a happy runner.

I am excited to try out the Nike+ system on my nighttime runs. And excited for my new green Nano. Thanks to my hubby for the Mother's Day gift, or for buying this for me around the time of Mother's Day and counting it as a Mother's Day present. We don't usually do big presents for each other on holidays, but Dave told me to go for it since Mother's Day was coming up. It comes next week, and I can't wait.

PS I do know that I'm THE last person on Earth to own an ipod. I just could never see the point until now. I hope I picked the right one. I debated between the touch and the nano and decided the nano was better to run with.

Catch up

WOW! My life is totally full! From the time I wake up in the morning until about 10 minutes after we close their doors at night (10 minutes to make sure they really are asleep) I am surrounded by little people and their needs. This summer will be nuts! And I will be very excited to have the two older ones in school come August. It really is fun though, I just watch them all in adoration, I LOVE THEM! They have grown up so much it's amazing. But with this very busy life I have, there is just no time to blog. I think about my blog a lot, but it's hard to abandon my children for long enough to do it. In fact this paragraph should have taken about 2 minutes or less to compose, and I think I'm working on 15 minutes with all the distractions. So let me catch up a little bit anyway.

G. Jesse- He is now 2 months old. I think he is about 10 lbs. He has gigantic darker blue eyes and his skin is now pale pink instead of yellow! I call him my rollercoaster baby. I never know quite what to expect from him. Some days he has been perfect and others I have spent a great deal of time on him. He was starting to show some signs of colic, it was getting worse every day. Finally after taking a couple of hours to get him to sleep one night I took him to the chiropractor. I'm SO not a natural medicine person, but I knew I didn't have it in me to deal with another Dawson. After only two visits to the chiropractor he is back to being a calm baby and a good sleeper most of the time. Last night he slept almost 9 hours straight. That was a good feeling. He still loves to be swaddled and loves his binky. We had his baby blessing on Sunday, and it was the first blessing I actually got pictures of, I've always been too busy that day. His blessing was quite amazing, I mean I know they all are, but wow. And he didn't cry during it. That is my worst fear on blessing day.

Here is our family before church. I pushed the timer and ran to the couch, so we only had one shot. It's not too bad!

The proud big brother. He just loves this baby.

My 4 boys!

Henry- is becoming such a big boy! He is finally starting to talk, a little late, but he has now caught up with the 18 month word count, just in time. He is still very sweet, but a silent little troublemaker. He just sneaks up on the bar and turns on the water, or disappears into my bathroom to play in my drawers. He loves to be outside at any chance, but I have to be with him because he prefers the road to the grass. *Sigh* I keep hoping he'll grow out of it soon. But luckily he has the most delicious little smile still, and he even plays with my hair sometimes to try to butter me up. Pretty good for an 18 month old.

My little Daws is the big boy now. He is fantastic most of the time. I'm really proud of him. He sleeps dry at night in his bottom bunk, and is totally potty trained during the day too. He doesn't drink a bottle, and is even starting to eat a little better too. The new cool thing at my house is cereal, and Dawson eats several bowls of cereal a day now. He also LOVES grilled cheese sandwiches made in the party press. Look at this cute little missionary!

Dawson uses the force at every opportunity. Whenever he wants us to do something he sticks out his hand with a concentrated look on his face and starts walking backward waiting for us to move. It's getting old.

A proud mom! I do love having a baby, and I love having 4 kids. They are all so fun.

My little baby G. Jesse yawning.

I was trying to catch pictures of his cute little monkey outfit.

Another picture of the monkey

VERY mad that I rolled him over to get a picture of the monkey that comes out of his pocket.

The boys love to shower now. We have a big, fun shower, and they love to all be in there together.

Isaac started playing soccer, and Dave is the coach. He actually made a goal at the last game. He's not very aggressive though, he is happy just jogging along with the herd. And I'm thinking soccer is a very dumb sport because it either rains or snows at almost every game.

And G. Jesse at the soccer game. (With the jacket you gave Isaac, Aunt Mame)

And lastly, we had a huge rainstorm that I couldn't resist. So me and the boys ran outside in the rain. Then we went inside and took a shower (I had my swimsuit on, don't worry). It was fun.
