Our Beautiful Baby.....

Girl? I'm sorry! I've never been one to dress my boys up like girls before. But I have to admit I laughed hysterically while I did it! Isaac kept asking me what was so funny. Henry is such a beautiful baby (In my opinion, the most beautiful baby ever born), and I think he makes a beautiful girl too. I hope that some time in the future he'll become a little more manly, and even with a bow on you'd know he's a HE!

You see, two of our friends have had a girl after three boys... just this month! Wow, I have thought that the perfect birth order of my children would be to have a girl next, but I wasn't sure if it was possible. I'm starting to have hope. So I'm taking dinner to one of them tonight, and I wanted to see if this headband would fit a six month old, because I have a babe-a-licious hot pink dress in 6-9 months that would go perfect with this headband. It looks to me like it fits a 6 month old perfectly, what do you think? I think I'll go with it, I bought both of these items a long time ago, but there seems to have been a baby girl drought amongst my immediate friends, and this gift has just sat in my collection. I've only had a few friends having baby girls lately, and it has been the wrong season for this outfit. Thanks Henry for trying it on, I promise I won't make you try on the dress. I'll just trust the label!

Memory Lane

One of Aimee's dear friends saw my post about Moroni, and sent me these pictures
And better yet, the little sister who follows the cool, older girls around and sneaks into the picture wearing a swimsuit? I'm going to pretend I'm not in that picture. Thanks Christie for sending those pictures!

Isaac-isms

Mom, all I need is a magic wand. (me too Isaac!)

Isaac- Who gave me this table?
Me- Kelly Anderson
Isaac- Why did they not want it?
Me- Who is they?
Isaac- Kelly and her son
Me- OH!

Mom, I'm drink-y.

Isaac was looking at the snow on the mountains and asked why Santa wasn't coming. I told him Santa only comes once a year and he said, "But I NEED Santa, because I need more Star Wars guys, and Lego Star Wars I! So can you tell him to come back?"

Are you Moroni? Do you know where he is?

Growing up in New Jersey, and then living back East again, Aimee and I had many chances to go to the Hill Cummorah Pageant in Palymyra, New York. When Aimee was in high school, she and her friends would walk around before the pageant asking, "Are you Moroni? Do you know where he is?...... Aww, well can we get our picture taken with you?" It was their way of meeting all the hot Book of Mormon characters, kind of a pick up line. When I went with Aimee when I was in college, we of course had to keep her tradition going. So when we finally found Moroni, we were somewhat disappointed. Moroni was usually the strongest, best looking character, but this Moroni was lacking a little bit. We still got our picture taken with him as shown below.

I like to think that every once in awhile, Aimee still does this. She can comb through the spirit world asking, "Are you Moroni?" and hopefully meeting some really hot Book or Mormon characters. Maybe some day she can marry a Moroni, or maybe one of the 2000 stripling warriors never married. The selection on the other side must be better than it is here, at least I hope it is for Aimee and Jessica.

Happy Birthday and Anniversary to you Dave!

On Friday, Dave and I celebrated our fifth wedding anniversary. We were down in St. George for a family vacation, and the five of us stayed in a tiny hotel room. Fortunately, the kids went to bed and we were able to watch a movie (August Rush---- LOVE IT!) in bed and we had a bag full of goodies to munch on while we watched (I went downstairs to see if there were any cookies at the front desk, and as I walked away, the manager started talking to me and found out it was our anniversary..... he hooked us up with all the random goods they had in the breakfast room). The funniest thing was earlier that night when we got back to the hotel, I was sitting in the car telling Dave what a let down this anniversary was (Dave is VERY romantic, so I was surprised he didn't plan much for this big day.) Dave was standing outside the window, when he told me he got fireworks for our anniversary. Sure enough, there was a great fireworks show that we watched from our car. Thanks for the fireworks Dave! :)

Today is Dave's 35th birthday. WOW! I'm married to an old man. Happy Birthday and fifth anniversary to you Dave. I love you!

I really am married to the most incredible man. 7 years ago, a Patriarch in Bountiful pronounced a blessing on my head, which held incredible promises about my husband and marriage. Dave has lived up to the promises these five years, and has truly made me so happy. It's funny when people talk about marriage being hard, I don't even feel like I understand. Marriage really isn't hard for us, and I attribute it to my being married to the most patient, happy, forgiving, humble man ever. Dave and I have had so much fun for the last 5 years. Dave is fun, and creative, and has given me 5 years of marriage, 3 boys, and 7 trips to Hawaii. What more could I ask for? Thank you for 5 wonderful years Dave! I love you! Happy Birthday and anniversary!

Dave's birthday presents: Hamilton's gift card from my mom, Tomato sandwiches from Tim, and a fish finder from me and his parents.
And my new traditional Chocolate layered cake

Henry has an announcement

Drumroll please............................................................. He got a tooth! This weekend he cut his first tooth, and he is only 5 months old. I guess Henry is the exception the rule that premature babies meet their milestones later than other babies, he keeps meeting his milestones early.

But the best part is, he was as sweet and happy as ever, even while he was cutting that tooth!

Happy Birthday to my BABY!

He's four!

MY BABY!

The boy that made me a mother (Well, Dave helped with that too)

And he has given me four blissful years of being a mom to a sweet, polite, smart, helpful, thoughtful, and loving little boy with scarcely an ounce of trouble. (Isn't selective memory great!) I love you Isaac!

Weekend over.

I'm so sad that conference weekend is over. It was so fun. We enjoyed our new traditions (aside from the fact that my dough didn't rise very fast, so I was up REALLY late.) Here is a picture of our snack while the prophet spoke.

And Dawson really enjoying the butter frosting that I made for our cinnamon rolls.

General Conference Traditions

I love General Conference! It is such a fun thing to stay home all weekend and enjoy the inspired words of our prophets and apostles. I have always loved conference since we moved to Utah (I didn't like it when I was a kid sitting in a dark chapel for 2 hours in New Jersey). And I love it when new apostles are called, and Dave can never guess them right. (Nor can I, but I don't even try!). We really enjoyed the solemn assembly today as we sustained our new prophet, President Thomas S. Monson. The spirit really testified to me that he is called of God to be our prophet.

My husband is always coming up with new traditions! He has been working on some family traditions for general conference. Here is what we have so far:

-Ritz crackers, easy cheese, and guava juice...... whenever the prophet speaks to us. President Monson always gets out these three things when his family comes to visit. They always know he'll have them on hand for him. So when he speaks, we will get out those three things, don't worry we're stocked up!

-Make homemade cinnamon rolls and take them to some of our friends on Sunday morning. One of Dave's students has a neighbor who does that every conference and they love it, so we're going to start doing it (Uggh, it's a lot of work, but they are really tasty!)

-Our Saturday night tradition we have been doing for a year or so: after Priesthood session Grandma Stevie and I meet up with Dave and Gordon at Macey's for a donut and some chocolate milk. Here is our family at Macey's. Notice my three blue-eyed, blue shirted boys. I couldn't be prouder. I love having a family!

How did you get over there Henry?

That's the question I'm asking my baby these days. Yes, Henry became mobile in the last week or so. I'm not exactly sure how he does it, but he can scoot or roll around the floor and get to the items he'd like to eat. (Shoes, toys, whatever!) I look over at him and wonder how he got from where I put him to where he is! I can't believe it, he just turned 5 months and he'll probably be crawling around 6 months, but we'll see. I've never been the kind of mom that has structured "tummy time" for my kids, but Henry has decided that all floor time is tummy time. He loves to roll over onto his tummy and he's not exactly sure what to do from there.

The girls at the daycare at my gym are always commenting on how much he moves around for such a little guy. They keep telling me he's too young to move around, and I tell them I am very aware. Dawson was a sitting duck until 9 or 10 months, and I didn't mind it one bit. Oh well, what can you do. And here is a picture of him on the little play mat that I never thought would get used. Who knew I'd have a tummy boy!
