So you think it's a girl?

Wow, we've had 6 girl guesses and 1 boy guess! Okay, I know there are more people out there who haven't guessed. Only a few more days left, so here's what I'm going to do to try to get you to guess. All the people who guess right will be put into a drawing for hmmm.... some kind of gift card. I'll have to keep thinking of what would be best. Maybe I'll just do $10 to something age and location appropriate for you. I'll keep thinking.

Tally it up!

Okay, I want you all to come out of the woodwork, even you non-commenters and give me your final guess on the gender of this baby. Please! As of today we are at T-8 days until the big ultrasound, and I'm finally getting excited! So I'm going to give you all the signs pointing in either direction of gender (And I DO mean ALL the signs- including the wive's tales I deem worthy of this post). Are you ready? **deep breath** Okay!

Wait, sorry, first I should tell you that I was 100% sure Dawson was a girl. We really wanted a boy, but it seemed like everything pointed to girl, I almost bought pink bedding on ebay (non-returnable). So remember not to trust me, dig deep into your gut and then guess. Okay, now are you ready?

Signs pointing to boy
Dave and I both think it's a boy ever since conception
We already have 2 boys
Chinese gender chart (I just checked it, but it says Isaac was a girl, so....)
Measures big
I sleep with my head pointed north

Signs pointing to girl
Draino Pee Test
Less sick (Dr. said that might mean girl)
High hcg numbers early on much higher than with my other pg's(can mean girl or twins)
Craving sweets and fruit
The hair on my legs is growing slower than before pregnancy

Okay, so I had to add some ridiculous wive's tales on there, or it wouldn't be any fun. But I made sure the 2 lists were even, so you can't pick a gender based on how many signs there are.

Common, leave a guess on my comments! I'll even send you a congratulations email if you're right, and definitely recognize your name on my gender post next Monday.

We're baaaaaaack!

We just got back from Hawaii this morning. It was a great trip!! We had so much fun, and did so many fun things. The kids were really good, and had a great time. I'm currently going through the pictures, (we took around 300 pictures) but I thought I'd post my absolute favorite picture. Dave and I were about 20 feet away from this scene just laughing our heads off. This little girl was named Masha, her mother is Russian, and apparently didn't want her daughter to have a tan line. So she spent her days topless. Isaac was walking behind us, and she cornered him. This topless girl was totally putting the moves on my son, it was hilarious! I consider this picture a classic, I can't wait to tease him with it when he gets older!
I'll post the rest of the pictures as soon as I get some sleep and get unpacked!

We're off!

Our flight takes off at 11:45 today. We're all packed up, and we're going to go wake up the kids in a few minutes! We'll have a good update when we get back! Hopefully the kids are good on the airplane.

Here is a picture of the beautiful Napili Bay where we are staying.

Time for a random post

Yesterday we went and had an ultrasound to see our little baby. And................... it's a................................ totally inconclusive ultrasound. This is a busy little baby (reminded me of Isaac). He was moving around constantly and we couldn't see anything for longer than a split second. Dave thinks he saw something boyish, which got us excited, but really the Dr. didn't have a clue. I'm not sure if Dave knows what he was looking at, but we'll be thrilled if he's right. My OB said based on my lack of morning sickness this time he thought it might be a girl, and Dave was VERY disappointed at that. I'm sure if it's a girl he'll come around, but both of us would love a big family of boys. So, we'll see on July 2nd. That is the date of my official ultrasound (done by a tech, not a dr.) Hopefully we'll find out then, and the baby will be a little more squished- unable to swim around so much.

How does the phrase go? "Absence makes the heart grow fonder?" Something like that. Anyway, it's true. When I was in Bountiful this weekend Dave bought a book called, "1001 Romantic things to do." He narrowed it down to a list of about 40, and got to work on them. When I arrived home, he had a bunch of wonderful things waiting for me. He had even bought me a new hairbrush to keep next to my bed so he can brush my hair before bed every night. It feels so good! He's also been complimenting me more, even telling me he thought I had a great body (And that is quite a compliment for this sick pregnant body. I'm in a really awkward phase right now) Anyway, I'm married to the most awesome guy, and I love him! Thanks Dave for being such a great husband.

Isaac came running into the house 2 nights ago, and out of the blue he fell. He somehow hit his eye on the corner of the oven, cutting it and giving himself a giant black eye. Totally accidental, but totally self inflicted. No good story of some mean kid or something (There was the little bratty blond neighbor girl who gave him a black eye once). This picture was taken a few minutes after he fell, and when he woke up the next morning, it was almost swollen shut! He looked like Rocky Balboa. Poor kid!

Isaac is so tough though, he was barely even crying when it happened. Dave walked in a second later and didn't know what had happened. He told Isaac if he didn't quit whining he was going to bed. I thought it was funny, because if it happened to me you wouldn't wonder if I was hurt. I'd be screaming! Isaac is a tough dude.

Dawson is SO cute right now! He is so funny to watch crawling around. One of my favorite stages with kids is when they learn to talk. He is just starting into it, and I love it! He is not totally consistent, he won't always say these things when you ask him to, but when he gets in the mood to talk, he'll really show off. He will say "Da-da" for his daddy of course. And "Ma-ma" only when he is mad (I'm not convinced he even knows what he saying for this word). He can say "ball", and even go fetch the ball for me (Who needs a dog?). And of course my personal favorite, "Buh-bye" which is occasionally accompanied by a wave. The best part about his tricks is he claps for himself. Really he claps all the time still. You know the song "If you're happy and you know it clap your hands." Must have been written for him. Most of the time his clapping goes with a big grin and two distinct dimples showing.

I found him in his crib like this, and HAD to take a picture. He even smiled for the camera! He must have been having a good dream!
There you have it for my random post. We leave for Hawaii on Monday, and I have a lot to do to get ready. So naturally I'm sitting at my computer blogging instead! Hopefully I'll have some great pictures to post when I get back!

The Draino Test

There it sat.... An unopened can of Draino sitting on top of my parents refrigerator. It was calling to me, "~Erica~, it's time to take the Draino test." With sweat dripping down my face, I could resist it no longer. I strapped on my protective eyewear, put on my labcoat, and went to work.

What you don't know is that all the OB/GYNs of the world are harboring a conspiracy against the pregnant world, desperately trying to keep them in ignorance of the truth about Draino. The truth you might ask? Yes, the truth about Draino is that it can reveal the gender of your unborn baby BEFORE an ultrasound. But the easily accessible internet has leaked their secret out onto a few websites, including http://www.bobandtom.com/frames/draino_test.htm.

So I did it. I peed! 2 oz of urine and 2 T. of Crystal Draino. And the results (as shown above, although it's not the best picture. It was blue-er in real life)- It's a Girl! Blue/green with no reaction is a girl, and brown and bubbly is a boy. My Sister-in-Law did it with both of her boys and got a big brown bubbly reaction, and her friend did it at the same time and got blue/green and she had a girl. I have another Sister-in-law (Trisha- you know who you are) who was severely disappointed in me for even wasting 2 T. of Draino on this silly test. She claims there is conflicting information on which color it should turn, but I would have you know Trish that I wasn't able to find a single website that said the opposite, so there! :)

So naturally since I don't own anything pink, I went shopping and dropped a thousand bucks on girl attire........... NOT! You don't really think I believe in this test do you? But it was really fun to do. I actually still think it's a boy, but we'll see. We only have boy stuff, and only a boy name, (Henry George after my Dad and Grandfather who were/are George Henry Biada Sr/Jr. Isn't it cute!) so if it is a girl we're going to have a lot of preparation to do before November. I'm sure all the work to prepare for a girl will be fun when we actually do get to that pink point of our lives, but in the mean time we have a VERY blue house.

So I'm sorry, but you'll all have to wait until the official ultrasound which should be early July. But when all is said and done, if it is a girl, you'll all know that the Draino test really does work!

Is it true?

After denying it for months, being endlessly chased by the Paparazzi "bump-watching", and countless gossip columns and tabloids accusing her, Erica Low's agent David has finally released an official statement:

"YES, Erica is pregnant, and NO it was not an accident. Erica was actually treated as a fertility patient due to some thyroid issues, and we are both thrilled to be adding to our family. The baby is due after Thanksgiving this year, but with Erica's history we're hoping to even make it past the first of November."

So it looks like these crazy people are actually having their 2nd and 3rd child 16 months apart... ON PURPOSE!

We managed to track down Erica in person- tired and exasperated by all the gossip, she finally commented, "Yes, I am pregnant. I'm almost 16 weeks along. This has definitely been my best pregnancy yet. I have only thrown up a few times total compared to a few times a day with my other boys. We really think this is our third son, but we won't know for sure for a few more weeks. We're going on a family trip next week. Maybe we'll have some more news after the trip."

P.S. Can you tell I'm really paranoid about people thinking it's an accident? When we first started telling people EVERYONE asked if it was on purpose, so now I just make it clear that it was.
