Bubba!

My Bubba is seriously the happiest person ever born to this earth. He is so happy and so fun and SO CUTE! He is approaching nine months, and he is such a little monkey! He crawls all over the place now, on his hands and knees. He loves to stand, and even likes to dance. He is so easy all the time, and I already feel depressed knowing I may never have another baby like this. I try to eat up every moment with him, and I think I express my adoration for him about 200 times a day. I am constantly saying, "Oh he's so cute, you are the sweetest thing I've ever met Bubba, I could just eat you up!" He sleeps well, eats well, and the only problem is he gets ear infections. I think I'll be getting him tubes in the fall, and then he will be THE PERFECT BABY! I love him!

Isaac's surgery

Isaac's surgery went really well. We were at the hospital at 6:30 am and out by 12:30. It was really nice, they gave me a HUGE room all to myself with rocking chairs, tv's, movies, books. The doctors came in one by one, talked over the procedure with me, came back when they were done, and sent the next doctor in. It was amazing to have all three procedures done on the same day. Isaac was very well prepare for what was going on, and cooperated beautifully with all the doctors' requests. We promised him that he could get a new Star Wars toy when he was done. As they wheeled him back into the room, I had wondered how long he would wait until he talked.... Before he was even in the room, he asked where his toy was. I didn't even expect him to remember. He told me he didn't even cry. We stopped at Walmart on the way home and he picked out his toy, and fell asleep in the car. By 4:00 he was awake and asking for Caleb to come play. When Caleb came over, they rode bikes, jumped on the tramp, Isaac was yelling to his friend across the street! So much for taking it easy for a few days. He has been really tough, and recovered like a champ. He is a little bit whiney when he is in pain, and he is VERY reluctant to take his medicine, but somehow we have gotten most of it down him. We are excited that the scabs are falling off his tonsils now, and hopefully he'll be out of any pain really soon!
Here are the before pictures of his hernia and tonsils. We'll post "after" pictures when things are all healed up.

Flaming Gorge

We had an awesome trip with my family to Flaming Gorge. I just love boating trips! We had a great time with the Biada's, and as always I came home grateful that the Lord sent me boys and awestruck that my parents took on the challenge of 5 girls. Those teenage girls are superfun, but very emotional, and I seem to have a way of making them cry! I love hanging out with my fam, and I was so glad my mom got to come along this year! Here are the pictures from our trip...

Last year Lauren had a tough time catching a fish... this year she is the only one who caught a fish!

Here I am on our boat.

Everyone's favorite... BABY BUBBA! who now stands.... he is getting way too big

I need to make a photo album of this kid and the funny places and positions in which he falls asleep. We kept laughing at how we would find him sleeping.

Rough Week at the Low household

Henry is teething. I guess that's why he's had a fever for two days and couldn't go to sleep. Maybe he has an ear infection. Either way, it's really hard to watch him be sad. He is so sick! It took me an hour and a half to get him to bed last night, I've never had any problems with Henry before. What happened to my perfect baby? Hopefully he'll be back to himself when he wakes up today.

Tomorrow is the big surgery. Isaac knows what is happening, and he really doesn't want to do it. But he likes the idea of getting a new toy, hopefully that holds up. We had to coordinate three schedules as we are doing tonsils, umbilical hernia, and filling his cavities at the same time (Yes he has five cavities between his back molars. Who knew you had to FLOSS your kids teeth? I thought brushing was hard enough.)

And as if this wasn't enough, Dawson broke his foot. It was so sad to see him limping around! He was jumping down the stairs, and just landed on it wrong. I knew instantly by his cry that something was wrong. (Gotta love that mother's intuition) Luckily, one of our best friends is a foot doctor. Isn't that handy? He fit us in and with 3 people holding him down (while he screamed bloody murder) they x-rayed his foot. Dr. Spencer (as we call him) couldn't actually see a fracture, he said kids are tricky that way because their bones are still forming so you would need to take an MRI to see the break. After the x-ray we figure an MRI is an impossibility, and unnecessary as treatment is the same for a break or sprain. So Daws is in a boot or "Wee walker" as it is called, for 4 weeks. It is so cute!!! I've never seen one so small before. He actually doesn't mind the boot now, and Isaac has told us that he wants a boot too.

Crock Pot Chocolate Cake

Thanks for all the comments on my hair! It has been so fun, I'll have to post more pictures so you can see some other styles I've done. Sorry for the confusion, but no, Dave didn't cut my hair. He was just trying to recreate that picture. "Chin down, look up, turn your head.... etc." But geez, I would love it if he could cut/color my hair. Think of all the money we'd save! I really need to get caught up with my blog, but we've been so busy this summer! I need to post on Cancun, Flaming Gorge, EFY, and after Wednesday we'll have a surgery update. (Isaac is getting his tonsils out, hernia fixed, and cavities filled all on the same day.)

This is an oldie but a goodie. I haven't made this recipe in awhile, but I'm making it tonight.

Pour 1 3/4 cup boiling water over mixture in crock pot. DO NOT STIR

Cook on high for 2-3 hours.
